TMTD-TV My favorite music videos, rare movies, live chat and general tomfoolery. And every once in a while you might just catch me working on something live in the studio. On occasion we'll be live from different shows, parties, and other messes I've gotten myself into. PLEASE NO INTERVIEWS.. Not even on Sundays. Thanks.

An alternative to TMTD-TV, What you'll find here is really more random stuff that I come across wherever I am, captured by the trusty (albeit with terrible battery life) Nokia N95. Very Very Random.

Hi Just, I was the kid that stopped you in Chinatown on Elizabeth street last night, and I just wanted to thank you for making my week. I started making beats because of you and Kanye and you remain one of my top inspirations. I am now pursuing a career in music because of that, attending Berklee College of Music. No cheesy requests to listen to my stuff, I just wanted to show my appreciation for you continuing to make good music, and I look forward to what you have in store for us in 09. Happy New Year, and all the best.

  5. Lol I swear I was saying the same thing. I wish all these mind numbing beefs just stop already. It used to be beef=competition but now its more beef=rapeyourgirlshootyourfamilywiththeshottyinthetrunkslapyouupyouaintshityoufaggot rap

i actually used to check for ransom when he was with a-team, but after he dissed joe last year i quit checkin for dude. budden made a great move by not retaliating with another stupid video.

  11. i dont really like this dude but hes right, beef needs to go back to be a talent competition instead of a stupidity game competition. if rappers dont wanna make dis record anymore and they like the internet so much probably they should have a World of Warcraft battle to see whos better!.
That could be interesting and funny.

I second that. The joints you guys did together on Joe’s album were fire.

Sai & Budden on a track would be tremendous.

Shit, I just want the mogulus up & going again. What other producer gives the fans a sneak peek into the studio with Common & Marsha, or The Game & Xzibit? Front row seats @ Jay Electronica’s first live show? Classic. That little 3 month run will always be a standout in my mind. I actually argued with Just Blaze =)

    Good times, man. Good times.

  16. lol @ the WoW battle. That might actually work in the NBA apparently.

But yeah, Joe made a good move.

    In this beef…..Budden>Ransom….

  20. seen this video earlier today… you can always count on Jay Smooth to bring the real, and Budden showed some real character… we need more of this in hip hop

  21. CMDeep says;
    31 Dec 2008 - 8:37

This was the right move- Ransom is retarded: FOH with going to someones house and havin your mans slap him on camera.

But I fell over when I started readin dudes crackin on Joe, saying he was scared or bitching out for cutting off the beef.

SMH at the ignorance in hip-hop. Jay’s on point with this video.

  22. Whhattup y’all I been chilling in Indonesia for the last two weeks. It’s live as hell out here. I’m very glad I missed this whole Budden vs Ransom part 2 shit. Only thing I’m saying tho as a totally unbiased observer is this. The last Budden TV I saw before I left on vacation, didn’t Joe unneccesarily diss Ransom? If that’s the case, then why is he trying to now act like the bigger dude? Why not just keep dudes name out of his mouth and not start any dumb shit at all? I’m in a net cafe in the mountains so I don’t have sound to hear Smooth, but he’s probly saying common sense. It looks like Budden started it, It elevated and Budden squashed it before it got hectic. But then again I don’t know either kid. I just know the little bit I been seeing, but as a Jersey kid who has elevated out of the Jersey mindstate for 10 yrs or better I already know one thing. Jersey Mentallity is very dog eat dog and you never argue with fools cuz from a distance I really can’t tell who is who.

    Happy New Yall, Let’s Elevate.
    Peace

  23. Meanwhile 400+ppl have died in Palestine since saturday. Fuck this.

  24. This is exactly whats wrong with America and exactly why a change wont come, until u change ur fucking mindstate and start worrying about whats REALLY important.

  25. This Jay Smooth guy is ignorance at its finest.

Firstly, He’s Isreali, and has the ability/opportunity to educate ppl and influence their views. Half the ppl in AMERICA dont know shit about Gaza. But instead, he uses his effort to discuss how ‘beef’ used to be good for hiphop, but now isnt. GTFOH.

His newest video is about ‘the economy!’ ‘the economy!’..there are places in the world where they are AIMING for an economy like urs.
Maybe if he stopped logging onto Nahright + Bossip for his info, he’d be a smarter dude.

posting comments/blogs like ‘lets not divert attention to this jersey city mischief’…..LOL. there are places in Gaza where whole apartment buildings are getting blown up, and ur concerend about 2 ‘men’ slapping each others brothers? at this time?!

Im not here to Dickride every opinion Just Blaze has, just because he has money (ie. S.T.D).

  26. If ur favorite blog didnt post shit about the 400 ppl dying in Gaza, but did about 1 random dude getting slapped (like a bitch) for his brother talking shit about some1s girl, then u need to raise that point to them ASAP.

  27. Justin says;
    31 Dec 2008 - 13:56

i dont think anyone here is agreeing or disagreeing with my opinion because i have money. if that was the case, they’d all be on Puff’s blog. Im a peasant in the projects compared to him. and if you think they are then why bother coming to a place full of dickriders. I’m pretty sure my financial status is not the reason someone may come here and agree or disagree with me. Fandom, possibly, finances, i doubt. I’ve argued with enough of the regulars here to safely say they pretty much have minds of their own.

    As for the Joe situation,

u don’t know why i asked for it not to be discussed/poked fun at here, and i suggest you respect that. i don’t need to disclose my personal business here, nor the reasons why I say what I say. What i WILL say and what you DON’T know is that i have personal relatioships with a few of the people directly involved in this and they go back years before any of this music business.. and im not just talking about joe. Don’t forget this is all going on 15 minutes from where i grew up. And i don’t want it discussed in that manner on here for a specific reason.

so on that note it is my right, as the owner of this blog, and friend of some of the folks wrapped up in this to state what flies and what doesn’t. intelligent discussion on the topic is fine, anything else will not take place. regardless of who got killed where in Gaza and anywhere else in the world.

If you would like to take part in a discussion on world affairs, try the forums on CNN.com,or any of the thousands of other politically-charged websites. They may better suit your taste. Do I have opinions on that matter? Yes. Do I have time to discuss them on here? no. Hell I barely have time to discuss MUSIC.. which is the reason most of you guys are here anyway. My heart goes out to those who have passed, and I hope that at some point soon the thousands of years of war in that region will finally ceases once and for all. But I’m not here to discuss that in length, and I’m probably not the best suited to speak on it publicly either, as I do not know all of the facts on the situation.

And as for Jay, you obviously do not know a thing about the man, and the presumptuous comments you make come off quite ignorant, especially to someone who knows his character well and personally. He doesnt need me to vouch or cosign for him, and this is not my attempt at doing so, but the same sentiment, cockiness, and nastiness that you display in some of your commentary and how you conduct yourself is the same reason why I fear you will be the own death of your talent ever reaching its true potential. I think you are extremely talented for your age, and have the potential to make it in this business and do great things. You have the right drive, great energy and hustle, and good (yet misguided at times) motivation, but you convey this motivation in the wrong ways, and sometimes with such arrogant bitterness, it can be quite a turn off. There have been a few times where I’ve thought to try and offer you some insight, advice, or anything else I can do for you. And then you’ll turn around and do or say something crazy where i just have to look at you and ask myself who in the world you think you are, and why you feel everyone owes you something. I do hope in time you will understand where I am coming from. And along with that, I hope it doesnt take an unfortunate incident or loss for you to realize this. Hindsight is 20//20.

Lastly, I do appreciate you. You’ve been around from the start and have never fallen off the map. And my fans do mean the world to me, which is the only reason I’ve said what I have. Hopefully you will understand it is coming from the right place. Love is love
    Best of Luck

Jay is a genius through and through. he should be the only person EVER allowed to talk about ANYTHING. I visit his blog daily and admire him, but is his financial status far superior to the majority of people? Well i don’t actually know and its none of my business. But im guessin prob not.

And roughly 24000 people die every day from hunger Komi. Try and find one of you FAVORITE blogs commenting on that daily. Realize that not everything that effects you, effects everyone else. But yes R.I.P and all that, an incredible shame. My heart goes out. I know it doesn’t really matter but it was actually 230 dead, 400 injured and not that i know much on the situation but i believe beforehand militants were pelting Israel with rockets. Prob not the best decision ever made.

    Peace

  31. Not trying to be an asshole here, but why should everyone related to an incident in any way always talk about that situation? How much more depressing would life be if every Israeli person you know was telling you about the horrible things going on? Jay Smoove brings intelligence in an entertaining way, and I respect him for that.

Jay is the absolute man..I’ve went through a ton of his videos, and I can’t say I’ve disagreed with him yet. He’s one of the people who, if I ever made it, I’d want to shake his hand and have a talk. Beef is rarely about the better song nowadays..pitiful..if you can’t keep it on wax, it’s not worth addressing..

  36. Mic-Roh says;
    31 Dec 2008 - 19:31

Budden needs to put all his musical focus on the padded room instead of this beef, which is not helping his career as much as finishing and dropping the album would.

  37. when it comes to discussing political affairs, its important that before you speak on it you do your research, not just pass judgements over what you hear and see on 30 second news clips or 2 paragraph write ups online.
this is a spot a lot of people go to to get alternative information, not the same things thats are reported by almost every news source like thoughts on the wars or all of the other negative things going on around the world and its important to keep it that way.

  38. The fucked up part about this whole exchange is that dude received…like..the ultimate compliment from Just! So many people who come here (myself included at times) would kill to be on Just’s radar like that in terms of him recognizing his talent and potential. Coming up, I would have gone crazy knowing that there was a way I could talk to Premo.

‘There have been a few times where I’ve thought to try and offer you some insight, advice, or anything else I can do for you…’

    ______________

Are you serious? I can hardly get my man to return an email (no offense, Just), I never EVER come at him on some ‘listen to my latest’ shit….and you have the chance to get LESSONS from the god at some point here.

    Dammit kid, smarten up….

  39. Komi stfu already! why do u think we come to this blog? we come here to discuss music and things related to music. if i want to discuss what’s happening in Gaza i’ll go to CNN. take that shit elsewhere. people come here to get their minds off all the fucked up things going on in the world, not to hear you bitch about how people in America don’t care. Get over yourself

  40. “6 paragraphs of fire?
    Am I counting right?”

damn i thought komi wrote that at first so i skipped over it

  41. so like four/five years ago i was a “super, hardcore” joe budden’s fan. my musical taste expanded and i kind of left joe in the wind (lo siento). i knew this beef with ransom was occurring, but i guess i didn’t care enough to really look into it. well not that i didn’t care enough..i think subconsciously i knew that it would get out of hand and a lot of the respect i had for budden would be diminished or lost. With that said, after watching Jay’s video…i’m glad i didn’t follow! sounds like the essence of the “beef” got lost and they just reverted to middle school antics. i’m glad to see that budden was the bigger person and ended the bafoonery. yay! :)

Mr. Smith, thank you for publicly saying something to our dear Komi. Hopefully it will open his eyes.

also, have u checked fruition lately?! they’ve got a reindeer christmas lo sweater up and i thought of you…

  42. Am I the only one who has thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the Month of Madness from Freeway?…he let relatively unknown producers do some joints and made a song a day for 31 days…and they were all listenable in the least…I just wanted to shout that out…brings me back to a nice place when the Roc was brobdingnagian and Just had the dreads.

And also my bad on actually bringing that beef shit up…i just hope that great music is released for 09.

  43. hey, some of us don’t like that Jay dude, he still managed to make us have a 30 posts discussion about the things hes saying, don’t know what does this say about us or about him but i think its not worth it.
400 people died here, other 400 there, actually my neighbor died on christmas day, she was the mother of 3 young kids, the oldest was like 14 or something, she died of cancer. Bad shit happens all the time, there are just places and times to talk about it.
Just think about it Komi, its you birthday party and blaze comes into the party throwing everybodys drinks to the floor and yelling “400 PEOPLE DIED IN GAZAAA!!! STOP PARTIIING!!!!” thats some rude behavior!
Komi, maybe you should post that Gaza stuff in you blog and we all should go there and discuss that situation.

  58. Towards justin - what you said to komi is exactly wat he needs. (Sorry for lack of punctuiation and grammer, I’m on my g1). He is often arrogant, annoying and childish. The other day I was on the phone to him when he asked me advice and he played ‘A Milli’ for 30 seconds while I was talking to him like a man. He leaves stupid voicemails on my machine and I often check my phone to see 10+ missed calls. He does take the piss a lot but I do appload him for his energy. It seems like he always needs to vent it somewhere. He seems to lack any sense of maturiry at times but he’s gettin it.
Aside from all of this, he is extremely talented. He is a grade 8 piano/ keyboard player, has an ear for sounds, drum patters and samples and can literally express himself thru music. He also has an amazing ability to emulate the style of a producer to the t as well as being original. And this makes up for him being a pain in the ass. Everything you said was justified and I even called him to tell him. The part about wanting to give advice or help and then thinking ‘who does this prick think he it’ is something I get everday! But I do think he can do something big with the right guidance.

I don’t think that you have an obligation to post anything you don’t want to but I do see it as the duty of everyone who has an audiable voice int he world to speak up if they know shit about the situation. Seeing as you put ur hands up and sed ur not in a position to comment is cool, but Humph3, you need to shut his effing mouth about things he doesn’t understand as your comment was ignorant, offensive and made me want to smack the taste out of your mouth.

I don’t asslick just and I don’t have beef with anyone, I just express my opinion as this site is really fun. Everyone is really cool, even if I have a little argument with em. And thanks to don don for posting regulary these days.

And without sounding like a terrorist, I pray for the peaceful and speedy dismaytlement of the state of israel as it is the only pro-semetic thing to wish for.

    Peace

  59. *My comment towards humph3 was not clear. It was basically me saying that he was a prick who doesn’t know shit about the situation and therefore should not comment. The ‘he’s’ and ‘his” were aimed soley at him.

  66. … Did also know that Ugandan rebels massacred over 400 villagers over Christmas time Komi? Probably not. Or that people in Haiti have barely anything to eat so they have to make cookies out of dirt… You can gripe about how other people don’t care but thats not going to help the people that are suffering… because SOME people still wont give a shit and it has nothing to do with being American. It’s just how it is. If you really want to help, donate some money, go out to homeless shelters and help out. Every year my mom goes to Haiti to help the less fortunate, with water, food, medical help etc.

You’re really young and you think you have accomplished things far beyond your years. I started making beats at 12, and at 15 I was exactly that kind of douchebag lol. I wouldn’t listen to anybody, but now I realize that being a good producer means more than making dope ass beats, you gotta be humble. And I know you’re probably saying, “hey hes a nobody, why should I take his advice” and yeah, I am a big nobody. A huge one I might add (present time…). But being ignorant and disregarding any advice, that would just show how much you haven’t learned.

“The fucked up part about this whole exchange is that dude received…like..the ultimate compliment from Just! So many people who come here (myself included at times) would kill to be on Just’s radar like that in terms of him recognizing his talent and potential.”

    Lol ya cotdamn right…

  67. I just got Logic Pro 8 and I was wonderin wut the difference was between setting ur polyphony to 1 in the EXS and actually choosing the legato option…they both seemed to serve the same purpose.

    Anyone with insight?

Blogs as I see them are meant to be an outlet for the person who is writing them, so people make comments on issues that they themselves feel able to discuss. As Justin said, it wouldn’t make sense for him to comment on a situation where he doesn’t have all the information…it would be like Sarah Palin running for President…not that I’m comparing your intelligence.

It is commendable that Joe decided to end this whole thing before it escalated into what we know it could escalate to. Its time to erase that type of ignorance.

    Sidenote: Jay is Israeli?

Komi hasn’t even posted lately. Is the negativity necessary?

BTW, You don’t have to be humble to be a good producer. But to get somewhere WITH your music, you should be.

  75. LOL, didn’t see this until last night.. my vid really got things popping in here!

Since JB thought it was worth the time to respond I will say a little something too:

Not posting this to attack dude, I respect that he’s clearly a smart kid and I respect his desire to be righteous (and I’d like to hear his beats).. I just hope he will take Just’s words to heart, and keep in mind that the root of righteousness is humility.

  76. I guess komi got what he wanted… now people wanna hear his music!.
Bad publicity is good publicity lol.

  88. big up joe budden…

  89. awwww man I just scrolled up… ah so pointless. Thats like walking up on somebody thats talking about their newborn baby and saying “Yo, u know 8 babies just died in africa?”… Theres always gonna be turmoil in the world, and everybody ain’t gon base their lives on it. If that was the case, then everybody should put down their beat machines and pick up a pamphlet. Not talk about hip hop and talk about the homeless… theres a time and a place for everything. Im not usually one to give my 2 cents but cah’man… u can kick that rhetoric in ANY situation. lets aim for relevance in 09′… everybody keep that word in ur mental roledex… “Relevance”.

  90. AND… I just saw Jay’s response… sheesh.

“but Humph3, you need to shut his effing mouth about things he doesn’t understand as your comment was ignorant, offensive and made me want to smack the taste out of your mouth.”

@Victory. I am extremely sorry compadre. Think you must have misunderstood my comment shortly after the now infamous Komi post. I know nothing of the conflict, but i can obviously see that this situation could potentially call for a high level of bias opinion. I just looked at the facts. The unbiased facts. I’m sorry if i have offended. Please talk to me i have. But please do not threaten. ESPECIALLY when your calling for the peaceful dismantlement of the state of Israel. PEACEFUL being the key word. Practice what you preach. I know nothing about you, you nothing of me. PEACE!!

Since early forum days i have thought Komi was talented, he sent me a track so i could work on the bass line, but things got on top of me as per. God only knows where that track is now. Sorry for that man. Track was fire. PEACE!!
