TMTD-TV My favorite music videos, rare movies, live chat and general tomfoolery. And every once in a while you might just catch me working on something live in the studio. On occasion we'll be live from different shows, parties, and other messes I've gotten myself into. PLEASE NO INTERVIEWS.. Not even on Sundays. Thanks.

An alternative to TMTD-TV, What you'll find here is really more random stuff that I come across wherever I am, captured by the trusty (albeit with terrible battery life) Nokia N95. Very Very Random.

    Chopping on the go is pretty dope. I wish Edison could do that. Canei Finch also showed this on his UStream.

    If anyone reading this has the Megatron Don LRG tee, please e-mail me at kidbeatsmusic@gmail.com, so we can negotiate a deal.

  4. The dude dox was supposed to show me logic… people been sellin me out lately, good look on that. Ive been tryinuh make my way to logic, thats like the only standard I haven’t learned.

    Great video, I had no idea you could do that with Logic. Just, for mixing do u generally use pro tools or do u stick with logic?

  10. again….shouts to the hamster that powers the macbook….

  12. 2Gutta says;
    07 Dec 2008 - 18:33

  13. Mic-Roh says;
    07 Dec 2008 - 18:36

    Offtopic a bit, but damn, Just set the record straight on FP.

  14. JUSST BLAZEEE!!

  15. Good looking! I’ve been using Logic for 10 years and did not know this! Keep the Logic tips coming!

  16. Funny thing is, I have PT and I literally don’t even touch it…

    I keep saying I’m gonna get Logic, but I always drag my feet about it…

  17. BXFam88 says;
    07 Dec 2008 - 23:09

    lol at ur canei comment

  18. Yo Just, that maroon 5 remix you did is CRAZY !

    (including the double-time DnB style ending)

  19. wow.. that looks very easy. I will have to investigate Sonar Cakewalk to see if it can do that. If it can’t than Logic is a clear cut winner for sampling.

  20. AGoNY says;
    08 Dec 2008 - 0:45

    Reason is wack… i know u dont do ur drums in there…

  21. lol @ sonning cats on FP *smh*

  22. Ecks MANOLO says;
    08 Dec 2008 - 4:47

    I always knew this could be done…but I never took the initiative to investigate how to actually spread different samples into different keys… I always just had 1 keyboard per sample (Reason 4.0) and after about 6 keys the rest of the keyboard was pretty useless! So I always had to program the samples with the “Redrum” and sustain every sample at 1 pitch!

    Thanks you didn’t have to do this! I wish you would give more tutorials and “sit-ins” instead of so many “guess what I did the other day” threads…
    that turns some of these people into “Stans”.

    Once again I appreciate this & look forward to a “Pt. 2″ …if ever

  26. i need some logic in my life

  27. Yo Just, I’m not really feelin that new Jamie feat Wayne track. Too similar to “A Milli” for my taste. But I dunno, A Milli was a hit so maybe that one will have some success too.

  28. You are really down to earth man - that’s ill.

    I still don’t understand how he was able to pull the music away from the vocals. I always producers used an acapella for that purpose. Goes to show you how much of a rookie I am at this.

  32. Shit…

    Makes wanna get a mac, its takes too much time to do this in reason, well, not that much but you have to move a lot more things

  33. SaigonTheDon says;
    09 Dec 2008 - 20:30

    everyone CLAP your hands for justin teachin ppl this stuff

  34. 2Gutta says;
    09 Dec 2008 - 20:42

    REASON the shit if you know how to use it. DJ Toomp & DJ Khalil use it the sounds are insane logic is good cause of editing

  35. didnt say reason was shitty, i use it all the time, it just takes more time to do this in reason, you have to chop first in recycle then load it with the NNTX or Dr. Rex or NN-19, well… at least thats how i do it, do you know a better way to do this in reason?? just drag and drop instead of using more than one program?
    If you have the track on mp3 first you gotta conver it to wav then chop then load the chopped rex2 file.
    Any suggestions?

  36. ohh, something else i wanted to point out was that, by seeing the was blaze did it, if you assing one chop to each key of the keyboard, can you also have a “Solo Sample” option to do this on logic and assing the sample chop to all of the keys of the keyboard to be able to have different tempos for the same chop like you do with an AKAI or the NN-TX?

  37. If this was easy sample chopping, I’d like to see difficult sample chopping…

  38. MPD trigger on the FPC with MPD mute timing after a nice edison chop. thats my shit. logic too much for my taste right now. in due time. thank god JUST took out the time for a lesson. no one else with a reputation has done much like that

  39. what FPC means?

  40. Kid Beats says;
    11 Dec 2008 - 5:19

    TheSonningSensor,

    I’ll gladly accept a old one as long as it’s not completely destroyed lol.
    E-mail me, tell me what size you have and what kind of condition it’s in (near new, wearable, total crap, whatever).

    spankee wilkins, FPC is a VST included in FL Studio.

  41. Mic-Roh says;
    11 Dec 2008 - 5:22

    watup kid beats, nice to see another FP member up on this. n logic is a beasttt

  42. SaigonTheDon says;
    11 Dec 2008 - 20:01

    lol@ kid beats giving out cash for a shirt….its just not the same man………..CLAP SNIPPET

  43. What software do you guys think its better for beat making?
    All of the have advantages and stuff but what do you guys think its best?
    Of course gear is best but i dont have enough money for an MPC so i got Reason and started there, then i got midi controllers and thats about it, what do you guys play with? Do you think the tools you play with are enough to explode all of your creativity?

  44. Mic-Roh says;
    11 Dec 2008 - 22:15

    ^^ honestly, its the user, not what you use. someone can make something really crazy on FL studio, while another person can make somethin horrible in Logic. It really depends on how talented the user is. sure, each software/hardware has its own advantages n disadvantages, and allow for different work flows. thats upto u to decide which 1 better suits your style of working. Nowadays, most softwares are par with each other feature wise. Im not talking about every little feature, but the main features, almost every software can do. so it all depends on what you feel comfortable with. lol sorry for the rant, just my 2 cents lol

  45. Yes, i understand its all about creativity, i just wanted to start a few comments about SW and HW and share a bit what we use and how we think it helps.
    Anyways there are beat making forums for that in some webpages right?

  46. Mic-Roh says;
    12 Dec 2008 - 3:25

    ^^ http://www.futureproducers.com , http://www.rocbattle.com has a forum too, but its mainly for battling beats online.

  47. BXFam88 says;
    12 Dec 2008 - 7:44

    “greatest song of all time” SNIPPET….

  48. Don’t forget http://www.dynamicproducer.com too…

    Gearslutz.com is hands down the best forum for anyone that makes music. You have TONS of big time engineers on there.

  49. Greatey :) thanks!

    “greatest thing to fall upon human ears since the sound of flames to the cavemen” SNIPPET…

  51. 2Gutta says;
    12 Dec 2008 - 21:20

    @ spankee wilkins

    dats the thing i dont use samples. i like makin orginal music. sometimes i sample but that when i wanna get my DJ premier on

  52. BXFam88 says;
    13 Dec 2008 - 0:33

    lol at sai…i cant top that. Ill jus go with the classic CLAP SNIPPET….

  53. making original music is great but i dont know how to play any instrument so i tought sampling would be a better choice, im in the process of learning keyboard right now but as i work 9-6 sometimes more its hard to remain constant. its great that you make original music!
    i find hard to find sound on a synth that sounds the way you want to, like, you have this sound in your head and you want to make a track with that sound and then you find it on your synths and you cant find it! hehe its way to hard for me to do that. Im not that good at making sounds with the synth by myself so, i guess im lost with making original music by myself

  54. can anybody explain whats with all of that Clap snippet and that damn bongo beat and all of that? i dont get it :S

  55. SaigonTheDon says;
    13 Dec 2008 - 18:52

    Say Just how u feel about Fiend signing to ROC nation??????

  57. Ecks MANOLO says;
    16 Dec 2008 - 5:17

    After a week of using this technique I’ve made all types of interesting combinations …mostly just the dual core action…..???…. I mean extensive sound manipulation qualities. However creating banks of samples is tedious. I would like to know how to work the “trip pad”. Also, how do you use real-time sample manipulation capabilities to slow down the sample while leaving the pitch intact?

    Tomorrow is the dead-line for Christmas mail…so what’s the verdict with those “Megatrondon” shirts?

  58. milli mike says;
    17 Dec 2008 - 1:07

    I don’t care about no damn dead line, i still want my shirt now till infinity. I’ll never stop asking.

  59. Kid Beats says;
    17 Dec 2008 - 4:50

    Stop asking for the shirt people

    I wanted it first lol. well not really…

  60. Just must be gone to India or where ever he was going…

  61. For some reason, I could not make the video go full screen, but I see what you did there. Basement cat was satisfied.
