TMTD-TV My favorite music videos, rare movies, live chat and general tomfoolery. And every once in a while you might just catch me working on something live in the studio. On occasion we'll be live from different shows, parties, and other messes I've gotten myself into. PLEASE NO INTERVIEWS.. Not even on Sundays. Thanks.

An alternative to TMTD-TV, What you'll find here is really more random stuff that I come across wherever I am, captured by the trusty (albeit with terrible battery life) Nokia N95. Very Very Random.

This kills me..

Read This..

It’s slightly long so if you don’t want to read the whole thing, here’s the point.

As many, if not most of you know, come Feb 17th, 2009, analog TV is about to be outta here.

No more regular analog TV AT ALL..

That’s fine since most of us are on cable or whatever.

The government’s gotta get the word out and make the people aware they need to either upgrade to new HDTVs or get converter boxes..

That’s admirable…

So.. in order to pull this off, they are allocating $1,500,000,000 to budget for an awareness and information program to make sure everyone won’t miss next years American Idol season premier…

$1,500,000,000..  1.5billion dollars..

Proposed 2009 federal budget for adult basic and literacy education:

$574.6 million.

"How about one of those f*cks you got over there in your back pocket Mr Bush.. what’s that? ohh … ok."

Word.

  1. We’re in a lot of trouble!! It’s definitely NOT going to get any better. Are any of you mad as hell yet? Probably not, after all it is 2008. You’re probably playing with your Wii.

I don’t know if corporate greed and high gas prices is the same but people in the 60’s sure seemed to give a f*ck. Nowadays, we’re just so bombarded with images on the tube and what phone I should upgrade to or what ringtone I should get that we just become numb to anything around us that’s important. Maybe because the economy’s so f*cked up and people are working 2 or 3 jobs they don’t have time. =/

AN AWESOME SHORT VIDEO ABOUT THE MEDIA

Speech by Howard Beale in The Network (made in 1976, its still relevant in 2008)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90ELleCQvew

….man watch that first one for sure. The narration is Howard Beales speech. So relevant.

i think also some of that money goes to supplying coupons to help allviate the cost of converter boxes for homes that dont want to buy a new tv.

well thats what this country does… wastes money on BS

  9. If he can’t read No one can mwuhhahahaha

  10. If you really wanna upset yourself, compare the literacy budget to that of this dumb as war we’re fighting….that’ll definitely shock your system…..

  11. this shit is pretty ridiculous. just another case of priorities being all twisted.
i hope the switch causes major drops in ratings leading to an end of all reality television. i know that won’t happen though, so i’ll continue to ignore the idiot box and make more music.

  13. America could end world hunger 3 times. But maybe it will be the end of America.

for real though, how many fuckin people watch analog tv? and for those that do, fuck em. let them figure it out for themselves why their old ass bullshit television aint workin.

  15. Well I don’t wanna seem like the big conspiracy theory dude. But believe me all this is for a bigger picture (so to speak). Theres a reason they want everyone to be on broadband internet and have digital signals. I ain’t tryinuh scare nobody to death, but hopefully you won’t be around to find out why. Also pay attention to how fast they helped the tornado victims… compare that to katrina. It is what it is. Read up on how this country was built. None of this should be a shocker.

  16. wow @ America. this is joke right? I thought you said..1.5 millions..first.. what?
1.5 billions??? I have no word to say…they haven’t even finished the subprime problem…..it is effecting everywhere in the world ..now
this must be a joke right? people outside of the US has been selling out American Dollar$$ while Mr Bush has been on vacation playing with his tiny A$$ pomeranian dogs.

I had no idea the amount of money involved.

  19. Its like over here in the UK, they get billions from tax on cigarettes but only invest 3.7% of the money they make, back in to getting people to quit.

  20. Ben-Wock! says;
    08 May 2008 - 4:17

NPR informed me about this awhile back- its not all television, just large broadcasters are switching. Small broadcasters outnumber the big guys, and they will continue to run past that deadline.

Fuck people who watch television with the rabbit ears? damn i wish i grew up in the suburbs with cable all my life….

  21. galletas says;

oneX…why should you’re government be spending millions upon millions on trying to get your citizens to stop smoking? if you’re dumb enough to smoke (knowing the risk) and pay the ridiculous price for cigs…then oh well….slowly keep killing yourself.

and did you guys hear about all of these stores that have been fined and penalized by the gov’t for continuing to sell analog tvs. why would they continue to sell analog tv’s knowing damn well that in a few months you won’t even be able to use it?…because in a few months you’ll be back to either buy a converter box…or a new tv…*sigh* gotta love capitalism…

  22. keeping folks distracted is of utmost importance to the government.
there are many larger looming plans that require folks stay tuned into the tube and not to their vanishing civil liberties and gross financial scams… converting to HDTV is a step towards the Orwellian telescreens and other means of poulation persuasion…”Grandma: What big screens you have!” “The better to advertise to you my dear!”
