dude i think i should win for 2 main reasons. I would enjoy the PS3 since my Xbox will not be capable of playing the new Metal Gear Solid game. I just spent like 400 dollars on floor tickets to the heart of the city tour and now I’m broke for a month and this would add a ray of light to my life. Plus, Halo is just gettin lame.

Why I should win this glorious prize you ask? Well I don’t have some incredible story or any hard luck situation. First of all I’m just a dude that loves quality hip hop and good music. Outside of that I work in the non profit sector for schools in St. Louis. I would actually look to give the PS3 away to a elementary school student who had the best grades during the school year or perfect attendance. If I won I would keep the shirt though…lol.

Man I need this for a plethora of reasons…First I’m a lowly college student who goes to a predominately rich white school…All of my boys out here are 360′d, PS3′d, and Wii’d up while I’m down here with a dusty old PS2 with broken controllers that barely vibrate anymore…The debt I’ll have when I leave this place coupled with the depressed job market in Pittsburgh will probably leave me without a new system until the PS4 drops(Does Fort Knox have any internship possibilities??)…And the tee (xl) is the craziest thing that I could get that my best homie back home couldn’t beat me to…Since his hoop skills sent him to school on a full scholarship and he has dough to just cop whatever the day it comes out…And why would you really wanna send all of this stuff further than PA?

-He takes the playstation 2 to college with him leaving me with nothing but internet flash games to play (the free ones, because go forbid I downloaded anything to the family computer)
-My job is as a radio sales person selling Am radio….tell me honestly who still listens to or buys AM radio
-It’s 100% commission and I sell nothing
-I picked Mississippi St. and Notre Dame to go to the final four
-I drove a Pontiac Grand AM…not that uncool, but I don’t even get irony points for how bad it sucks

I need that PS3 because wifey keeps begging me to get a Wii. Honestly i’m still happy with my dreamcast but I gotta keep wifey satisified. hopefully this PS3 with games like Monkey Ball & Katamari will be good enough. July 4th I was on my way to pick up my niece & nephews to go see the Transformers movie when I got in a car wreck. I don’t want to say much more than that for legal reasons but I was injured & laid up in my momma’s house because I couldn’t get around for so long that the movie was on DVD before I was mobile again!
I always told myself I’d hold off on getting a “next gen” system until the new GTA came out. Well, I got this new job that has some rules straight out of slavery days & they might let me go because my deposition/court dates from my auto accident will probably conflict with work hours. I’m gonna need to hold on to that funky little $500 so I could pay my rent in case they make good on the threat!
Plus, when I was a kid I forced this other dude to be in my “rap group.” We were called the Mixmasters, named after dude from the Constructicons. It didn’t last long because I wrote all the rhymes &, well… I sucked.

Man, I can tell you all of the reasons why I shouldn’t have this life sucker:
1. I attend Babson College, a largely unknown college in the suburbs of Wellesely, MA. Mind you, I’m from Dallas TX.With that said, wouldn’t you think that the academic workload be a little easier, at least for the rich kids? Hell naw. Ranked 3rd in the nation in Princeton Review for Work intensity (found this out during my freshman year - horror moment/blackout-pissed). And when I say work intensity, I’m talking about the time spent outside of class and degree of difficulty. What’s the degree of difficulty, you ask? I’ll tell you….
2. Dumbass, “A-type” procrastinators and their influence on YOUR grade. At Babson, teamwork is emphasized.(Oh, I forgot to tell you that Babson was one of the top business schools in the nation. Really a minor fact, if you ask me) Every class, be it liberal arts or business, emphasizes group projects in a way. And thats cool and shit because it gives you a real world experience. But…….fuck that. Most of these kids want you to do their work for them while goofing off at one of Boston’s wack (please believe it) clubs the night before a major (25% of grade) project is due and we haven’t finished half of it. Real world experience will eventually become my real foot in their worldly ass.
With all this crap, how could a fresh tee and a PS3 make it better?
But I digress……
Cliff Notes on why your boy could be using this playstation 3 for some downtime:
1. Work/Stress Levels are killing me.
2. A Single Next Year (Senior Year) will be the most conducive environment for ya boy to get his FPS skills up. Plus, the school has the ethernet hook-up throughout the buildings.
3. I saw the OG Transformers cartoon movie in the theaters three times when I was Kid. Couldn’t afford the fourth time and snuck in only to see another 15 minutes of it before getting the flashlight n run through the exit door treatment

We need shit to do out here in Seattle. We bout to lose the Sonics on some bullshit. Kanye is the only BIG Hip-Hop tour that comes through here on any regular basis. Although 2 years ago we had the Tribe Called Quest Reunion tour, and this year we had Wu Tang. That shit was live. But I know I’m gonna get this, cuz I’m a lucky man. After the tribe concert, the crew and I hit up our favorite drinking spot. Met Jarobi from Tribe there. We gave him props on the show and left him alone. (The last thing the man needs is some male groupies, shit.) He came around later, asked my homie for somethin good to smoke. We made a few phone calls, got the hook up, didn’t even sell it to him. We figure this dude and his homie’s been helpin us out all these years with this fly ass music, a little bag of something good is the LEAST we can do to give back. Took some pics with the man and left him alone. He hooked us up with an email and thanked us before we bounced. One of the best days of my life.

Because back in November I was up at six in the morning talking to you on this website about that show you did where you wished you had played “Touch the Sky” and “Throwback” instead of working on an exam due the next day in my grad program because I care more about TGSNT and any news about Saigon & Just Blaze more than my own schoolwork.

To be honest Just, speaking for myself… I do not need a PS3, or a fly t. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford nice kicks and fresh clothes. i attend the University of Maryland and I am very blessed that I am receiving such a great education.
Through my service with Martha’s Table (http://www.marthastable.org/) in Washington, DC, I have meet many children and young teens who are not able enjoy the finer things in life. It is tough for me to ask someone for such a rewarding gift knowing that I could go on in life without it.
Anyway, with that said, you should consider giving your future spring cleaning items away to local organizations around New York who work with the youth. It’s places like Martha’s Table and other places around countless cities that keep our youth away from our violence in the streets.
As a fan of Hip-Hop, I enjoy coming to your site and reading up about TRUE Hip-Hop. In fact I have discovered many “old school” artist through your site, and I thank you for that. On the other hand, I just do not know what these giveaways have to do with the true essence of your site. I’d think everyone would agree that people come on your site for your music and your knowledge of Hip-Hop and life… NOT a free PS3. Not going to lie, the shirt is legit.

I was getting out of the train in the Bronx by my crib, and I saw these five dudes pulling a burner on this old lady right in front of the McDonald’s on 170th Street, next to the Jimmy Jazz. I had just come from J&R where I had spent all of the money I had saved from my $20 a week stipends for volunteering at a soup kitchen for the mentally-ill homeless in Brownsville, BK buying a new PS3, besides what I spent on rent for my one bedroom where all 12 members of my family live (7 adults, 5 children). So without thinking I throw my J&R bag which had the console in it, as the dudes gun goes off. The bag, with PS3 in tow, flies between the hoodlum and the old lady just in time for the PS3 to catch the bullet, and then crashes into the skull of one of the five dudes. He collapses, a cop siren sounds, and the other 4 jet.
In short…One guy = arrested. Old lady = life saved. PS3 = 50 Cent.
I’ll never be able to get another PS3, but I wouldn’t trade what I did for that old lady for anything.

Why I should win…..
For one, I still have a PS2 sitting on top of my TV. All of my money goes towards my career and unfortunately a PS3 is wayyyyyy out of my budget (that equates to about 10 hours of studio time where I record).
Secondly I am a game fanatic (check out my post about FF12 on donnygoines.blogspot.com) and I would love to play Gears of War and other next gen games I have yet to even see with my own eyes.
Finally, a clean T shirt is always good money lol.

Well your obvious choice is me. There’s three simple reasons. The first is, I don’t have the money for it because I’m saving all the money I get (which is very little since it’s kinda tough to get a job in a town with 250 people) so I can rent a house and pay to go to university next year. I would buy one but I just can’t afford it right now or probably anytime before PS4 comes out. The second reason would be that not only would I be the coolest kid on the block for having a PS3, I’d also be super cool for having something sent to me by Justin Smith, even though people probably wouldn’t believe me I’d know the truth. And the final reason is that I’ve been angry ever since I woke up early in the morning on February 16th to get my Glow in the Dark tickets and had 5th row seats until I entered all the credit card information and had the internet tell me it could not display the webpage. And then everytime I tried to go onto Ticketmaster I was told the same thing. So needless to say this is one person who was screwed out of the biggest concert of the year. Fuck Ticketmaster. So if I got this it would be some dope shit. PLEASE JUST PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE. And thanks in advance because we all know who’s getting this thing. I’m joking congrats to whoever this goes to you’re one lucky dude and/or dudette.

We would like the PS3 simply for our skateparks soon to be game room. Rampworx is in the UK (55,000 sq foot). We are the biggest skatepark in UK but being a registered charity and paying thousands of pounds rent per week for a run down building is killing us, it’s hard to find the extra budget to build and develop our new games room we are working on. We managed to get funding for the room, yet no funding for the consoles/pods. Funding bodies over here suck big time, we have been overlooked/shafted countless times, it’s got past a joke.
Plus we are also just revamping the sound system in the skatepark for our DJ workshop, so moneys extra tight… filling 55,000 sq foot with music aint easy!
We see thousands of young people a week, so it would benefit more than just one young person.

No disrespect to anybody but I’ve read every comment left before mines and in my opinion, I don’t think Just really wanted any sob stories… But… I’m unemployed going to the School of Audio Engineering in Miami lol… And I love video games… and I am not using the word “love” lightly. I really really love video games. I still play my Snes, Dreamcast, Genesis and my PS2 on a regular basis.
One of the reasons I’m going to school is to learn a lil bit more about scoring movies and video games which I really want to be a part of later in life. And I know the PS3 is top of the line and just thinking about the sound makes my mouth water… But as previously stated, I’m unemployed so I really cant keep up with “The Jones” lol…

Yo, I’ve been on the grind struggling for as long as I can remember breathing doc. My mom was a drug head and my dad wasn’t tryna have me, so I had to stay with my Grandpap and Grandma. My granddad passed on when I was 16, and I had already been working for two years then.
My grandma is disabled and wasn’t getting nothing but Social Security checks, so my check pretty much paid the bills. I took care of myself and my grandma for my entire High School career, and because my checks paid bills, I pretty much ain’t have shit until I started making a little extra dough, and starting grinding beats. I’ve always been inspired by greatness, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say my aspirations was to bring the house down with every joint I make like Just Blaze.
I’ve never had it without some worry, some bill, something in my way. I didn’t have to revert to drugs, I didn’t have to hustle illegally, i worked from the damn bottom to get where i’m at. I hardly ever get the things I want in life, and goddammit, I want this shit. That shit ain’t just a T-Shirt and a PS3 to me. That shit is the Holy Grail, the jump-off to my life, that spark to tell me everything is gonna be alright, and the good guy does finish first.

I think I should get the PS3 because I’m just about to graduate from university and ready to get back into gaming huge. Plus I’ve loved transformers ever since I was a little kid and I’m so excited for the 2nd movie that I check the countdown website for the release every couple of days to make sure it’s still coming out the same day. Why do I believe that I deserve to get the PS3?
I’m a broke university student who is at the moment trying to study for an exam that I’m sure to fail (plant physiology - are you kidding me?). Not to mention my brother’s XBOX360 (that he let me borrow for the semester to play NBA 2K8) that was robbed from my place while I was throwing a house party to mark the end of classes. So I’d like nothing more than to repay him and get him a PS3 for his birthday coming up in June. It would be even more special if it came from one of his (and mine) most respected and favorite people in a music industry filled with fakes. So I hope that’s a decent reason to warrant winning the PS3 or at least the t-shirt (size XL).

I think the best thing that you could do with the Playstation 3 is to give it to a deserving youth, I am a School Counselor in North Carolina, each six weeks we try to reward our students with an incentive to encourage and promote learning. I plan to have an awards ceremony in June, this would be an awesome gift to give away to a student who has demonstrated academic and behavioral excellence all year long, it would also speak volumes about your character knowing that you have given to a cause that is so worthy.

I want the PS3 for my nephew. He’s had a myriad of health and developmental problems since birth, and my sister’s and brother-in-law’s finances have suffered because of it. They can’t afford to get him anything like a PS3, but he, like most kids, loves playing video games. He also loves music and plays the drums. He used to hate school because of all the problems he had adjusting socially and academically, but now, thanks to great teachers at his new school and therapy sessions, he has made vast improvements in his grades and even made the honor roll last semester.
I’d love for him to receive the PS3 as a special gift for what he has accomplished in school and as an encouragement for him to achieve even greater things in the future.

My parents just installed a really nice home theater system. Every time I go to there house I have to take my PS3 because they used all the extra cash on the projector and couches. A couple weeks ago, I was in Jimmy Jazz, looking for the new Rico Tizzio overall shorts with the tapered legs. An isle over, I noticed an old lady. Her eyes kept darting back and forth from between the security guard and another customer. I figured she was about to shoplift something. Eventually she focused on something towards the ground. I walked around to her isle. She had her back to me, but I could see she was bent over a baby carriage. All of the sudden, I heard a baby scream. I ran over to the old lady and spun her around by the shoulders. I will never forget what I saw next.
The old lady was squirting a syringe of the baby’s blood into her mouth. She tilted her face up to the sky and screamed “MAKE ME YOUUUUUNG!” Her head snapped forward and her eyes were fixed on mine. I can’t tell you how or why, but somehow she looked 50 years younger. She started to walk towards me, baby blood dripping down her chin. An old Dominican man crept behind her and pulled out a .44 Magnum he had tucked in his pantalones. He screamed “No Mueva!” and let off a warning shot. The woman turned around towards him. She started walking towards him.
BANG! He let off another shot directly into her stomach. Barely flinching, inching forward, she said,
“Only what”,
BANG! Another shot clapped from the .44, but she kept moving forward.
“Gives me life”,
BANG! BANG! Two more shots, nothing.
“Can take it”!
She reached out to the man with both hands. The old Dominican fired off one more .44 into the floor while she crushed his skull between her hands. She turned, snatched the baby out of its carriage and sprinted towards the front door. I scrambled to the floor and picked up the .44. Three Jimmy Jazz patrons who saw what had happened joined me as I followed her out the door. We chased her for a few blocks before she ducked down into a dead end alley. She was cornered. We closed in on her, the 44 focused directly on her the whole way. She just kept laughing into the sky. I took an extra second to line up a headshot. I figured, “If a 44 slug to the brain won’t stop her, nothing will”. At the exact moment I pulled the trigger, from out of nowhere, bag flew between us. The final shot from the .44 was absorbed by whatever was in that bag. The contents of that bag exploded on impact. Shrapnel kicked back into my face, disfiguring me and putting me into a coma.
I came through my coma a week later. I learned the other Jimmy Jazz patrons had been found a block away from where I was. They were killed in ways that were incomprehensible to forensics experts. Apparently she left me for dead. I learned it was a Sony Playstation 3 which was in that bag. It turned out it saved my life… and hers. My theory is, that since a PS3 saved her life, another PS3 will be able to take it. That, or baby’s blood.

Well, I’ve been without a game system for some time now. And before I could actually save the money to get one, I ended up having a baby girl on 10/09/2007. I am supporting a household containing myself, my fiance (who is soon to be starting college), my 6-month-old daughter, and my 2 animals (Dog & Cat). All this on my measly little hourly wage and only 40 hours a week. I’ve always been a fan of the Sony gaming console, and I’ve been dreaming of having one for the longest time. Being that I’m putting my fiance through school, then putting myself through school when she’s done, it’ll be probably 4-6 years before I’ll have the money for anything like that.
